Owego’s Lights on the River

The holiday spirit sparkles in Historic Owego on Friday, December 3rd as Historic Owego Marketplace celebrates their annual event “Lights on the River!”
The Mayor of the Village of Owego, Mike Baratta, and the President of the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce, Sabrina Henriques, will be at the Courthouse Square to flip the switch and light up the Court Street Bridge and the streets of Owego at 6 p.m.!
Fireworks start at 8 p.m. over the Susquehanna River in Draper Park next to the bridge.
Stroll around the village and enjoy shopping, dining, hot food on the streets and activities around the village.
5:00 – 8:00 Watch a movie projected on Tioga State Bank wall on Lake Street plus popcorn!
5:00 to 8:00 – “Make a Holiday Card” – Tioga Arts Council, 175 Front Street
5:00 to 7:30 – Write a Letter to Santa in front of Black Cat Gallery on Front Street
5:30 to 6:30 – Get your picture taken at the Courthouse in front of a Whoville backdrop
5:00 to 6:00 – If you find Betty Lou Who and Martha – Be sure and “Get Framed” on Lake and Front Street
5:30 to 6:30 – Caroling at the Courthouse by OFA musicians and chorale group
5:45 to 6:45 – Meet the Grinch at the Courthouse Square
6:00 to 8:00 – Barbershop Quartet – “Group Therapy”
6:00 to 8:00 – Enjoy the music of the Starling Harmony Trio at the Experience Tioga Visitors Center on Front Street in the Gateway Building
6:00 to 8:00 – Be on the lookout for Magician Doug Welch wandering around the festival
6:00 to 8:00 – Keep your eyes peeled for Juggler Nate the Great
7:00 to 8:00 – Juggler Will Stafford will be wowing crowds on the streets
6:00 to 8:00 – Listen for the drums of the Purple Lightning Band starting on Lake Street marching toward Front Street
8:00 – End your night with a huge fireworks display of the river!
