On Fridays from June to August at 7 pm, local musicians, entertainers and lecturers come to the historic Newark Valley Depot to offer free, family-friendly entertainment presented by the Newark Valley Historic Society. Featuring artists playing Jazz, Bluegrass, Dixie, Country and you favorite songs from different eras, this series has something for everyone throughout the summer. Every Wednesday in July and August at 7 p.m., Tioga Arts Council brings a different local band to the band shell at Hickories Park. A variety of genres like Indie, Americana String, Country, Oldies, Rock & Roll and Big Band are represented throughout the season. This free, family-friendly event has ample parking. Bring your lawn chairs!
For over 40 years, the Tioga Arts Council (TAC) has enriched the cultural lives of Tioga County’s residents and visitors. Located in the shopping district of the Village of Owego, TAC is a central platform for a flourishing arts community. Their gallery is open to the public and exhibitions change monthly. Visitors are encouraged to stop in to see (and buy!) artwork created by local artists.
