Ransom Steele Tavern

Ransom Steele Tavern is Tioga County’s newest music venue and features live, local and regional music Wednesday through Saturday. With a state-of-the-art sound system, stage and dance floor, it is comfortably set up for crowds to enjoy the stacked line-up of bands. The name is a nod to the buildings first incarnation, “The Steele Hotel,” built by Ransom Steele in the 1830’s. Over the years, this historic building has housed the town’s first postmaster, a mercantile store, a hotel, a training facility for soldiers in the Civil War and a local watering hole. Today, it is a beautifully renovated, two-story, rustic bar and restaurant with the second floor open for a birds-eye view of the stage.
