The Three Sisters

Winter squash, maize, and climbing beans are the main crops of various Native American groups, particularly the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) of the Finger Lakes region. Indigenous farmers in the northeast have been growing these crops for hundreds of years and continue to do so today.

Jane Mt. Pleasant (Tuscarora,) Associate Professor at Cornell University, will give a presentation about Haudenosaunee agriculture, knowledge and the productivity of indigenous cropping systems.
