First Ladies

Judith Present’s play, “First Ladies,” gives President’s wives a chance to tell their story. From first ladies of lore like Dolley Madison and Mary Todd Lincoln to their more recent counterparts like Mamie Eisenhower, Lady Bird Johnson, and Nancy Reagan, our first ladies were just as interesting and inspiring if not more as their husbands.

Accompanied by music and costumes  of their period, this play gives an honest assessment of who these ladies were, letting the audience into their true feelings and secrets, and how they affected their husband’s presidency.
