Experience the Arts

Sparkle Night by Amy Hoi Ngan Hsiao – Best in Show Everyday Life, Everyday Art

Tucked away in the rolling hills and charming villages of Tioga County, artists are producing fine art, handcrafts, music, plays and literature from home studios,  converted barns, cozy cottages and on stage. Their work can be found in galleries, shops and the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center in the Village of Owego. The Village is also home to the Tioga Arts Council, the heart of the arts community in the county. The Tioga Arts Council hosts monthly exhibits in their gallery and events around the county.

Everyday Life, Everyday Art is an annual, juried, regional art show hosted by the Tioga Arts Council. This year, it’s a virtual exhibit where you can view and buy award-winning artwork from the Southern Tier, the Finger Lakes and Northern Pennsylvania. Browse over 100 works in the categories of painting, photography, sculptures, clay, fiber, graphics and the special category for 2020 aptly named “Resilience.” Every year, this show brings some of the most fascinating and remarkable pieces within 100 miles to one place and this year is no exception. Especially unique to this show is the influence of historic 2020 events that have impacted the lives or artists and their communities. You can view the virtual exhibit here.
